Cyber security cover is a necessity for all businesses, says insurance expert Mike

Cyber security insurance should be treated by businesses small and large as a necessity, says a prominent Bognor Regis broker.

Only a small number of companies has taken out insurance that could help pay the cost of recovering from a serious security breach and Mike Maskell, of Robins Row Ltd, says firms should look to address the situation.

“The cyber-threat remains one of the most significant risks facing business, and it’s growing,” said Mike, a director of the independent insurance brokers based in Aldwick Road. “It’s not only hackers who can lead to a data breach it can be a simple mistake by a staff member.

“I’d urge anyone with concerns about the very real threat to give our friendly team a call and we can talk you through the many options open to you regards insurance. It doesn’t have to be costly to protect your business.”

Mike was speaking after helping to oversee a name change at Robins Row, formerly known as Worrell Fry. And he is quick to emphasise that clients are guaranteed the same excellent service that has elevated the business to be hailed as one of the area’s leading independent insurance brokers.

The company, which has its headquarters in Suffolk, is keen to reiterate that customers who have enjoyed excellent service should expect more of the same. He explains: “Our clients tell us they like the way we do business along with the fact that we are an independent and that will very much continue to be the case.

“Over the years we have managed to continue to keep existing, valued customers happy as well as nurturing new business and it shows we’re doing that by the fact that we have more than 85 per cent of repeat business!

“With more than 35 years as independent insurance brokers, we have built up a wide network of trusted insurers. We listen to clients, find out their insurance needs and give them the best options for insurance cover.

“Sometimes all you need to do is to speak to a friendly professional, who is knowledgeable about insurance. By giving us a call, you will cut down on form filling and hours spent on the computer comparing insurance companies, covers and policies. We will do the hard work for you.

“Because we are independent brokers, we will hunt out the most competitive rates available to us for you that will provide you with suitable cover. We will talk you through the various options and answer any questions you may have about your insurance cover.”

Worrell Fry has worked under the umbrella of sister company Robins Row for many years and now they are simply adopting the same name. Having previously worked with Robins Row It’s a company with which Mike is familiar. And he knows all about the business’s history too.

He says: “Robins Row history dates back to 1867, when stationmaster Mr CJN Row sold accident insurance to railway passengers to supplement his income.

“In 1867, a stationmaster’s pay was so small that Mr CJN Row had to sell accident insurance to railway passengers to increase his income. In the ensuing years, when the founder took his son into the family business, the company became CJN Row & Sons.”

Fast forward to now and what was Worrell Fry is ready to embrace that history. It’s easy to see that clients new and old are very much in safe hands!
