Gary Watts has plenty of mileage on the clock when it comes to being the driving force at Bognor Regis company GWA Cars & Finance.
So much so that MD Gary has broken open the bubbly, along with sales director Gary Young and staff members, to celebrate a quarter of a century delivering a friendly and professional service covering all aspects of vehicle purchase.
Gary and the GWA team celebrate their 25th anniversary with a champagne toast. But, as ever, it was business as usual soon after raising a glass to herald the landmark. Back to business means maintaining levels of customer care in the supply of all manner of cars and commercial vehicles, new and used, to all sectors.
It is a meticulous approach to business, with clients old and new at the forefront of the GWA philosophy, that has seen the company flourish in the intervening years.
Speaking from the company’s Barrack Lane headquarters, Gary explained the idea he had 25 years ago was one which made perfect sense. He said: “Put simply, I wanted to provide the right vehicles, new and used, at the right price. Allied to this, I wanted to put in place the most advisable and cost-effective finance package on the market at any give time.
“I thought if I can do all of this, and do so with in a professional and friendly manner, then surely the business will succeed. Add our fleet purchasing power and, of course, it has been a success.
“What has helped over all these years is that as well as super service, we have been able to embrace all the great aspects of being independent. It means clients need look no further; we are a one-stop shop satisfying demand for vehicles and all that goes with them.”
Gary says one particularly rewarding aspect of 25 years as GWA is the relationships he has built up with clients since the very first day of business.
One such client is Richard Williscroft, chairman of estate agents Henry Adams. He said: “GWA started shortly after Henry Adams did and over the years Gary has provided hundreds of cars to us. I have always found GWA to be exceptionally helpful, courteous and efficient.”
With GWA Cars & Finance still going from strength to strength, Gary says he feels proud to have helped thousands of happy motorists over the years. He added: “I am not altogether sure where the time has gone but I have to say the has rarely been a dull moment. The team we have in place now is fantastic and we look forward to a bright and prosperous future.”
