Councillor urges: ‘Have your say’ on tip opening times

A BOGNOR councillor has asked townsfolk to have their say on the opening times of our waste recycling site.

Francis Oppler says he wants input from people concerned with the problems being caused to nearby businesses since the new times came into force.

The councillor’s request comes after he and business owners from Arun Business Park to met Conservative councillor David Barling, the cabinet member responsible for the changes to opening times for the tips.

Cllr Oppler said:

“As the local County Councillor I held a meeting for business owners from Arun Business Park to meet Conservative Councillor David Barling the Cabinet member responsible for the changes to opening times for the tips.”

“The businesses have had problems getting to their units since the new times started. The proposal that was put forward is to open at 8am all year, but close at 3pm in the winter and 5pm in summer.”

“As the local councillor I said NO, as it would hit residents even harder than the new changes. I want to hear your views please.”
