A DISGUSTED animal lover has has told of his fury after discovering a deer shot and left to die an agonising death at a nature reserve.
Pagham resident Steve Grubb found the roe deer blasted in the hind quarters and wedged under a fence near the entrance to Pagham Harbour at the end of Church Lane.
Steve believes the young animal would have endured a lingering demise by bleeding to death after being blasted.
And he posted these disturbing images of the animal on Facebook to show his anger at the act.
He said:
“I could understand pest control if it was summer crops they were eating but its bare out here.”
“It wasn’t shot there, there’s not enough blood but the dog was following the blood trail from the field to there so I’m sure they must have shot it out there somewhere.”
“It’s private land and a nature reserve with footpaths around. Whoever took that shot is a ******* idiot, and not go and track or collect the carcass first class *****.”
