Lotus Styling owners Daren and Kate Terry are raising a laugh with clients thanks to a cheeky publicity campaign to collect hair to help children.
The Aldwick Road hair salon is asking potential donors if they would like to have their locks cut for charity with the slogan, “Have you go 7 inches or more?”, as a window display.
It’s all because the salon has joined forces with hair-styling brand GHD and the Little Princess Trust in their nationwide campaign to encourage people to “Chop to Your Chin” for charity.
Throughout September and October the salon is encouraging people with long hair to donate seven inches or more of their hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes real hair wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatments and other illnesses.
The salon is embracing the event with a window display honouring the campaign and they already have 21 inches of hair which has kindly been donated.
Daren said: “It’s a bit quirky, and very tongue-in-cheek but a fun way to get the message out there. We are immensely proud to be supporting such a great cause. The Little Princess Trust is such a fantastic charity and we as a team want to create as much awareness and funds as we can.”
The Little Princess Trust has given away over 5,000 free wigs since its inception and with the rising demand for wigs, the charity needs more help than ever to generate hair donations.
