Bognor rugby club players and officials will join family and friends of tragic Jimmy Colwell to say their farewells at his funeral next week.
Father of two Jimmy, 52, will be laid to rest at 13.40pm on Friday 17th November at Worthing Crematorium and the cortege will leave from the club’s Hampshire Avenue headquarters.
A message posted on the club’s website by Doug Millen said: “Jade and Jordan Colwell and family have asked me to pass on to club friends of Jimmy’s that his funeral will be at 13.40pm on Friday 17th November at Worthing Crematorium. All that knew Jimmy are welcome to attend.
“They will be leaving from the rugby club for anyone who wants to follow and returning after to give Jimmy the send off he deserves. They suggest get to the club at least an hour before to allow a 40 minute drive.”
Jimmy’s death has been treated as unexplained. In a statement at the time of his death police said: “Mr Colwell’s body was found at the bottom of stairs on the ground floor inside his house in Oak Grove around midday on Monday (August 28).
“A post mortem has shown that he died from head injuries, but it has not been established how these injuries were caused.”
