Clive delighted to tee up trick shot ace to give golf business a boost

Bognor golf enthusiast Clive Briggs hopes one of the world’s leading trick shot experts can help his business go with a swing.

Clive, who owns and manages Golf Marker Systems, has teamed up with David Edwards to help promote the golf accessory which has been designed to help players record shots such as their longest drive and nearest-the-pin.

David is known at leading golf courses across the globe for his amazing ability to uill of a series of tricks shots during a jaw-dropping show. He has performed his shots alongside stars such Lee Westwood, Justin Rose, Ian Botham, Sachin Tendulkar and Piers Morgan.

And Clive, from Pagham, hopes having David on board in an ambassadorial role will help raise the profile of the business. He said: “David has agreed to come on board and we are delighted. We have been going for five years now and are growing all the time. We have our products worldwide and have distributors in both Australia and America so it is all very exciting.

“We have more and more testimonials coming in, the most recent which is very encouraging is from Coombe Hill, which is a very prestigious club and we are very pleased with that.

“It would be nice to get in to the big tournaments and to make an impact at the Ryder Cup of 2018 in France would be a dream. We will have to wait and see.”

So why is the golf marker proving so successful? He explained: “The old-fashioned way meant you had to try to write your name on a piece of damp, disintegrating paper – and I thought there must be a simple solution.

“The system is great for all weather conditions. Players can mark the position of their ball on a board beside the green. The top has a useful hole to store your pencil. And can even be customised to suit individuals, golf societies and golf clubs.”
