A deeply personal exhibition exploring intimate realities is set to open in London next week. The American artist Katherine Hubbard will present ‘The Great Room’ at Studio Voltaire.
The exhibition, which opens to the public on 7 October 2026, serves as a visceral documentation of the artist’s practice.
The installation also features a labyrinthine architectural structure. This component of the exhibition is a direct reference to a partition wall Hubbard used to create a makeshift bedroom, reflecting domestic adaptations.

Studio Voltaire, a leading non-profit contemporary arts organisation based in Clapham, will host the exhibition throughout the autumn and winter seasons. Admission to the gallery is free, and no prior booking is required for general entry.
An opening preview will be held on 6 October 2026, and the gallery has stated that “all are welcome” to attend.
