Presley Gerber, the American model and eldest child of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at the age of 27.
The 27-year-old passed away on Sunday, 20 September 2026, at a rehabilitation facility in the Los Angeles area. His death was confirmed on Monday by family representative Allie Jenkins, who released a statement requesting privacy for the Gerber family.
Records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the date of death, though an official cause has not yet been determined. An autopsy is pending to establish the circumstances surrounding his passing.
Born in 1999, Gerber followed in his mother’s footsteps into the fashion industry, making his runway debut at the Moschino Resort show in 2016. He went on to work with several high-profile international brands, including modelling for the British luxury house Burberry. His sister, Kaia Gerber, is also a prominent figure in the industry, having been named Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2018.
In recent years, Gerber became a vocal advocate for mental health, launching a social media series titled ‘Mental Health Mondays’ to share his experiences and support others. He was also known for his work with the charity ‘A Sense of Home’, which provides furniture and domestic essentials for young people transitioning out of the foster care system.
The tragedy follows a period of public openness from the family regarding Gerber’s long-standing struggle with addiction. In the September 2026 issue of Vogue, Kaia Gerber discussed the impact of her brother’s health battles on the family over the last decade.
According to The Guardian, Gerber had sought various forms of recovery support, including undergoing a psychedelic ibogaine treatment at a facility in Mexico in March 2026.
The Gerber family has not yet announced any memorial arrangements. The investigation into the cause of death by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner is expected to take several weeks as toxicology reports are completed.
