Brighton College Prep Hove has officially celebrated its opening following a £3 million investment to transform the historic site on Dyke Road. The school, which occupies the former premises of Windlesham School and Nursery, officially celebrated its opening in September 2026 to mark the latest expansion of the Brighton College family.
The relaunch follows an extensive programme of site enhancements designed to modernize the facilities for pupils aged 3 to 11. The multi-million-pound investment has funded significant upgrades to the campus at 190 Dyke Road, including the development of new playgrounds and revitalised outdoor learning spaces.
Headmaster Philip Smith is leading the new institution. The opening is part of a long-term strategic plan by Brighton College—which was named the United Kingdom School of the Decade by The Sunday Times—to streamline its preparatory offering in the city.
A key phase of this transition will occur in September 2027, when Brighton College combines its local prep schools by moving pupils from St Christopher’s School on New Church Road to the Dyke Road site. This merger will bring the two school communities together under the Brighton College Prep Hove brand.
For prospective families looking to view the new facilities and meet the teaching staff, the school has scheduled an Open Morning for Saturday 19 September 2026. The event will provide an opportunity to tour the renovated nursery and primary school classrooms and discuss the curriculum with the leadership team.
