Sussex Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious collision on the A23 that left a motorcyclist hospitalised.
The incident occurred on the northbound slip road near Bolney at approximately 8:40am on Monday, 7 September 2026. The collision involved a BMW car and a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 61-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for treatment for her injuries. The driver of the BMW was reported to be uninjured in the collision.
The incident caused significant traffic disruption and severe delays for commuters on the A23 throughout Monday morning, though the road was fully cleared later that day. The A23 serves as a primary trunk road through West Sussex, connecting the coastal areas including Bognor Regis and Brighton to the M23 and Gatwick.
Police Appeal
Investigating officers are now looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the interaction between the two vehicles or the collision itself. They are particularly interested in viewing any dashcam footage from vehicles travelling northbound in the Bolney area at the time of the crash.
