British singer Robbie Williams staged an impromptu acoustic performance for fans outside his hotel in Lima, Peru, on 24 September 2026, after local authorities forced the cancellation of his scheduled concert.
Hundreds of supporters had gathered outside the Belmond hotel in the Miraflores district following the news that the second night of his Britpop Tour in the city could not go ahead. Appearing on a balcony and later interacting with the crowd while wearing a Peru national football jersey with his name on the back, Williams led the fans in a cappella versions of his hits “Angels” and “Feel”.
The singer’s gesture came after the Municipality of San Miguel ordered the immediate closure of the Arena 1 Park venue. Officials took the decision following what they described as serious safety failures during the tour’s opening night on 23 September.
According to the municipality, inspections during the first performance identified several licensing and safety breaches, including blocked pedestrian access and deficient evacuation routes. The resulting disorder during the Wednesday night show led authorities to revoke the venue’s permit for the second date to prevent potential overcrowding or injury.
According to Agencia Andina, the artist chose to meet the “broken-hearted” fans at his hotel to compensate for the sudden loss of the arena show.
The tour promoter, One Entertainment, has confirmed that they are currently working with the artist’s management team to find a new date for the cancelled performance. Fans holding tickets for the 24 September show have been advised to retain them and await further instructions regarding the rescheduled event or potential refund procedures, which have not yet been finalised.
The Britpop Tour is a major international circuit for the former Take That star, with dates scheduled across South America and Oceania continuing through late 2026. Despite the administrative issues in Lima, the singer’s team has not indicated any changes to upcoming tour dates in other regions.
