Rocks stay top of the pile, now Howell’s men face Crawley in enticing Sussex Senior Cup semi-final clash

Jamie Howell’s high-flying Rocks face an enticing Parafix Sussex Senior Cup semi-final clash against Crawley tomorrow night.

Bognor travel to Lancing’s Culver Road for the encounter with Dermott Drummy’s Sky Bet League Two side in a welcome distraction from the effort of maintaining their place at the summit of the Ryman Premier League.

Howell’s men stayed top of the pile with a 2-0 win on the road at Wingate & Finchley on Saturday, thanks to goals from Chad Field and James Crane.

And they face a tough task in league action again this forthcoming Saturday when they go to Needham Market, currently third in the table behind second-placed Havant & Waterlooville.

The Hampshire side are two points behind Nyewood Lane’s finest but have two games in hand.

Meanwhile, Pagham lost more ground at the top of the DSCFL Premier Division after a 2-1 defeat at home to Arundel. Coming up on the rails in the race for the league title are Chichester City, who won 3-0 at Wick and are now two points behind leaders Shoreham, along with second placed Haywards Heath Town, but the Middle Road outfit have a game in hand.
