Magnificent seven! Felpham Colts enjoy tourney delight with remarkable victory…and don’t let in a single goal

Felpham Colts U9s are in seventh heaven after a remarkable victory in the Sports Tours seven-a-side tournament at Bunn Leisure in Selsey over the Bank Holiday weekend. And they didn’t concede a goal for the entire tournament.

The Colts, managed by Nick Scott, played eight group games winning SEVEN and drawing one against teams who had converged at the event from Essex, Hertfordshire, Hampshire and Sussex. Their win means they picked up where they left off last time of asking at the same venue when they won the Sussex Cup.

The budding starlets overcame the challenge of Collier Row in the final with a thumping 3-0 triumph thanks to a brace from Isaac Glanfield and a strike from Albie Scott. And the manager said: “The boys did brilliantly and were a credit to the club in what was a fabulous event.

“And for ones so young they showed a great resilience to go with their enthusiasm; this was summed up by the way they got on with the action and played every minute of every match as we had no subs.”

Players: Albie Scott, Isaac Glanfield, Lennie Smith, Karol Mucha, Joe Checkley, Louis Andrews and Jay Quin.
