Glam it up, Bognor! Glitter Bugz set to open much-loved Rox musical festival

One of Bognor’s favourite glam rock bands, the Glitter Bugs, are heading back to the town to open the Rox musical festival next month.

And music lovers promised an “injection of quality Bowie, Bolan, Slade, Sweet and much more”.

But before that the group are set to perform at the William Hardwicke this Sunday (June 18, 5pm) as part of the celebrations for Father’s Day.

And the 70s rewind act will be back at the Hardwicke in July when they open the annual Rox event. Spokesman Alan Frith took to Facebook to explain: “At The William Hardwicke we are very proud to be supporting Bognor Rox once again this year on the 29th and 30th July. Lots of bands have given up their time to create a massive day of live music and raise some cash for Bognor’s biggest event.

“The weekend starts off on Saturday when we have Djs all day and night for Ibiza Rox and on Sunday the bands will play from 2pm. Don’t forget to bring some money to put into the charity pots so we can make Rox even bigger next year!.”

Rox timetable at the William Hardwicke:
2.00 Glitterbugz
3.30 Collyde
4.30 A Tad Tighter
5.30 Matron
6.30 Beaten Tracks
7.30 Repeat Offender
8.30 Walking Dynamite
9.30 The Feel
