A Bognor Regis woman wants to create a trip down memory lane to mark her mother’s 50th anniversary celebrations of being “Granny Beaver”!
Jayne Williamson has issued a plea to try to collate as many pictures and memories as possible at a party for Carol Sayers, a well known figure in the Bognor Regis and West Sussex scouting community.
Carol will be celebrating her 80th birthday next year but Jayne’s plan is to surprise her on her forthcoming 79th birthday; and Jayne, said: “This is a plea for any cubs or scouts out there from the last 50 years, to review their old family photo albums for pictures which reflect those good old times.
“Anyone got a photograph of the gang shows which took place every year in the old Esplanade Theatre on the seafront, or St George’s day parades where a high number of cubs would be attempting to march in formation through the streets of Bognor Regis?
“Also, what are you cubs from the 70s, 80s and beyond doing now? Any exciting stories to share would be great either from your time as a cub, or the present day. Many thanks in helping us pull together a memorable archive of Carol’s triumphs!”
The family are holding a get-together at Pagham Village Hall between 3pm and 5pm on Saturday 24th June, and everyone is invited and Jayne insists: “Uniform not mandatory!”
