Fury as townsfolk snub two-minute silence for fallen

COFFEE shop owner Dan Slade has accused some people of a lack of respect for seemingly ignoring a two-minute silence to mark Armistice Day.

Mr Slade captured the scene from outside his town centre premises in Bognor Regis and the footage he posted online appeared to show people going about their business rather than adhering to the silence.

Memorial services have been staged throughout the country today to honour the war dead ahead of the traditional commemorating Remembrance SundayCenotaph Service and Parade in Whitehall this Sunday in London.

After position the video, Mr Slade took to Facebook to say:

“The reason I posted a video of the ‘supposed to be’ national 2 minute pause & silence at 11am this morning for Armistice Day, was to show the lack of respect & interest in respecting those that died for our Country & our humanity.”

“The fact that you forgot or were caught up doing something is no excuse! It’s 2 minutes a year! Where were all the ‘patriotic’, ‘I am England’ majority voting Brexit’ers at 11am!?”
